S-Stem Nouns and Adjectives in Greek and Proto-Indo-European A Diachronic Study in Word Formation

It is often difficult, especially in a dead language, to establish why certain things are expressed in a certain formal way. Why are certain formations favoured over others, what exactly do they convey? This book examines a group of nouns and adjectives, all formed with the same suffix and, for the first time, explains their morphology and semantics, from prehistoric times throughout the Classical period of Greek and, often, up to the present day, thereby furthering our understanding of the Greek language.
